Chapter 2
I wake up to see darkness around but
I can see perfectly with my night vision. I look around to see I’m in a cage I
still have my jacket on with the hood. I think to myself thank god they didn’t
see my face. I hear a door open and footsteps. I wonder what they are going to
do to me. I see its Josh he has a wicked smile on his face. I hear others
talking they are the classmates I attacked. They too are smiling and laughing
that they have caught me.
“Well! Well! Well! Looks like we get
to see who you really are.” Laughs Josh.
I look up at him and growl.
“Why did you kill her?” questions Ivy.
“It didn’t it would be impossible.” I
report back.
“What do you mean?” asks Ivy.
“Why don’t you take off my hood and
find out!” I yell back.
“Ok.” agrees Josh while smiling that
wicked smile.
He unlocks the cage and puts me in chains. He
puts me where everyone can see. Then rips off the hood. All of them gasp when
they see me. I look at Josh and Ivy. Grief and guilt overflows my golden eyes. “Why
didn’t you tell us?” Ivy asks with caution.
“I did it to keep you safe. I answer.
I look at Josh he looks hurt, angered, and betrayed at the same time.
“Why….” Josh trails off. I look at
him hard and say nothing. I hear footsteps coming I know they are scientist. I
look around frantically. I see a window I can go break through. I can’t let
them remember that Storm is myself. I have an idea I will wipe their memories.
I will keep Ivy’s memory and tell her not to tell them at all. I look at all of
them and close my eyes. I enter their minds and wipe the memory. I leave my
voice inside Ivy’s head telling her my plan. She nods to me with approval I nod
back. I leap in to the air and break through the window.
I run on to
the roof and leap off. I pick up speed quickly running and I’m at the forest
within ten minutes. My hidden blades come out and I climb a tree. I start
jumping branch to branch and I’m home within an hour. Before I walk in I check
my leg it has been hurting for a while. I look down to find a gash in my leg it’s
not that bad. I open the door, Strike sees me and runs and hugs me she is
crying I hug her back.
“Where did you go! You were gone for a week!” Strike sobs.
“I went to see Josh and he is one of the assassins with some
of our other old classmates.” I answer.
“Was Ruth there?” Strike barley manages to say.
“Yes…” I trail off.
Strike looks up at me her silver eyes wide with grief.
“What is her power?” She asks.
“Ruth can run really fast and can fly that’s all I know.” I
answer.
“You better go to bed.” I mutter softly.
Strike nods she walks away to her room. I go out on to the
roof and look up at the moon. Maybe I should stop all of these mutations on
kids and make everything in peace for once. That would stop the labs and wars
and so many things the world would be at peace. There is only a problem how
will I be able to find more experiments to help.
